In the second to last week of build season, our team has made some major accomplishments to prepare for the final week.
This Friday was our team’s 5th annual Unveiling Event held at the end of the 5th week of build season. During the event, teams shared their ideas and strategies over dinner, provided by Red Cork Bistro and Catering, concerning this year’s game as well as their robot designs. Whether it was using a CAD file, parts of their mechanisms, or even a complete robot, teams could present their progress or just sit back and listen. 14 teams showed up in person with about 150-200 people attending the event in all. Aside from the people present at the event, national and international FRC teams ranging from Boston to Vietnam to Australia and more sent in videos about their robots and game strategy and/or tuned in to watch the live streamed event.
Meanwhile, our team’s Chairman’s Essay has finally been submitted as of Thursday morning after weeks of hard-work writing and editing. Our Chairman’s team’s efforts are now focused on the presentation aspect of the award and brainstorming has commenced once again.
On the engineering side, our team has been practicing on a mock field with our now complete prototype, working on fixing any problems we find. Changes to the original prototype are already underway and our second improved prototype robot is currently being manufactured.
